Summer Shrimp Cocktail

Enjoy this refreshing and healthy shrimp cocktail that perfectly fits within the principles of the Caveman Code. This delicious cocktail combines fresh shrimp with a flavorful sauce and crunchy pieces of pickle and apple.


Ingredients: 


For the shrimp cocktail:

  • 400g fresh shrimp, peeled and cooked

  • 1 green apple, diced

  • 2-3 pickles, diced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 avocado, diced

  • 1 bunch dill, finely chopped

  • Lettuce of your choice (e.g., iceberg or romaine), shredded


For the sauce: 

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup (without added sugars)

  • 1 teaspoon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped

  • Black pepper, to taste


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, fresh dill, and black pepper. Stir well until the sauce is well combined. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the shrimp cocktail: In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, apple, pickles, red bell pepper, and avocado. Gently mix together.

  3. Mix the sauce: Add the sauce to the shrimp cocktail and gently mix until all ingredients are coated with the sauce.

  4. Serve: Place a bed of lettuce on plates or in glasses. Spoon the shrimp cocktail on top. Garnish with extra fresh dill for a fresh taste.


Tips: 

  • For an extra flavorful touch, sprinkle the shrimp cocktail with a bit of lemon juice.

  • Serve the shrimp cocktail chilled for a refreshing summer experience.
